Thanksgiving, 2008

Wow.. I haven't been on this blog in months. Well, since May. A lot has happened. My finger is all better. Nice scar, and if I put pressure on the finger in a certain way, it feels kind of like when you bump your funny bone. Other than that, it's all better. I am off probation, that's a wonderful thing, and K is home with us for the holdays, and in about a month, for good. I will most likely be taking my 100ton commercial captain's course at the beginning of this coming year, and that will be a big career step for me. Things are looking up in a way that they haven't been since Charity first came into my life, and when we first moved in together after Evil was banished.

2009 will see Barack Obama take office, it will see two dear friends of mine get Handfasted, and Charity and I as well.

While there are a few unfortunate things, such as the passing of that dreadful prop 8, I am optimistic that it will be overturned in short order. California's Supreme Courts have been known for upholding what is right, and striking down hate and bigotry. So all said and done...

I am Thankful. In a way I never realized I could be. This is big. This is wonderful.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

ouch.

Yesterday I did a Stupid Thing™. I tried to seperate two frozen hambuger patties with a Large Kitchen Knife™. I doubt that I need to explain what happened as a result. Suffice to say that after one ER visit later, I now have 6 stitches in my left middle finger, just under the 1st knuckle. I rawk.

And to think that I used to tease my mom about being clumsy with sharp kitchen implements. At least the ER staff was kind enough to leaugh
with me insteah of at me.

Trust me, it makes all the difference in the world when you do something Stupid.

This is why...

..I love Disney. Why I loved working for them back in the day, and if my personal situation was different, why I would work for them again.

Disney find lost rings in Trash.

The employees vollunteered to dig through trash for these folks. They weren't required to. But they did it anyways. That is customer service to the Nth degree. I have always loved that about working there..

Still alive.

Yep, not only am I still alive, after over 2 months of being incommunicado, I thrive, people. Thrive. Faire has started back up, the boats have started picking up, and I am still lucky enough to have the most awesome woman in the world as my girlfriend, working on putting a third year onto our relationship. Truly, I am blessed. The old group is looking like it's going to re-unite sans Evil E, and thus drama-free, or something close to it. A booth at faire? next year? I was astonished to find today that not only is it possible, but that we had already begun making plans to put said idea into motion. HARLE! For those of you unfamiliar with the term, I expect you need desperately to go learn of the Pirates Charles. Truly, a band of epic face-melting proportions.

In review: Life is a grand party, and I am the guest of honor. Harle.

my head....

There was a lot of drinking last night. 2 2/3 bottles of various red wines were consumed. And then there was a 7am. And this 7am of which I speak had a buddy with him, a bastard by the name of Have to Go to Work.

And so I sit here at work, mildly hung over, which wouldn't be so bad, if the damn front desk wasn't facing the Fucking Sunrise. I am sure it is in th enews somewhere, and that you can verify this: Today the sun is brighter than it has ever been previously. True story. I bet MSN has an article on it...

Owwww, my eyes.... >.<

and my head. That too. Owwwww.

Thank you Mom and Dad...

These last couple months have been like a financial triage for Nine and I. She has been much more reliable about telling the internets about it on her blog. Medical bills, hourly cutbacks on both our parts at work, mine so severely I had to take on several new jobs to supplement. Add to that my car kept breaking down, requiring me to pout more of my life's bloos money into it.

It has been like a triage, Nine and I frantically trying to stem the tide of money flowing out, and trying to find ways of finding new cash flow in. It has been a slowly loosing battle.

Until now. With 4 jobs, all of which I will be getting my full hours on starting next paycheck, will ensure that we lose no more money. But we would still be in the red, if not for my parents. My dad bought the parts my car needed, and helped me install them. That alone probably saved us $500. And then for my birthday, my mom gave me $300. Cash. With payday just two days ago, and that extra $300, Nine and I will be set until tax time, and any problems after that will be moot.

So, thanks mom and dad. I am not the best kid in the world, but I am trying.

Long time no see, Internets

Well, it has been a long, LONG time since my last post, according to Nine. And she is right. So guess what that means. Yep, its UPDATE TIEM NAO!!

First, a status list of my life. Since my last blog posting:

# of jobs: 4
# jobs I hate: 3.5 (Not sure if I totally hate the newest one, or just the stupid that wanders in.)
# of Dr. apptmnts Nine has had: A LOT
# of Dr. apptmnts Nine still has before we can do it: TOO MANY.
# of times my car has broken down on me and demanded me to throw money at it: 5
# of times my car plans on breaking down before I get really pissed and roll it off Pt. Fermin cliffs: 1 MORE FUCKING TIME. I DARE YOU!!!!!

And that is my last month in a nutshell.

Seriously, the car is just becoming obscene with the stupid. Although this last time was my dad's fault. He forgot to tighten an important hose down, and my power steering went the way of the dodo. And since I do not possess the proper tools to fix it, my attempt to fix it only bought me a day before the car died again. At least I know what's wrong, and I can fix it tomorrow. I will jury run it to autozone, get the stuff I need, and then borrow there wrench. Should be good, by that time.

New job: Working at a motel now. Not terribly seedy, but chock full of prostitutes. A question for you to ponder. When a prostitute, upon finding out that you are a new employee says, "That's why you have been so polite..." Is that a good thing? or a bad thing? I wasn't sure, so I smiled vacantly and nodded.

Well, my 1 hour break between the No-Tell Motel and Toasty's is over, and I need to go clock in at Toasty's.

Talk about Stupid that walks right up to you and shakes your hand.

Oh.

Joy.
